Pumpkin seeds, a pleasant discovery!
Everyone knows pumpkin and the recipes with which it can be prepared, but few know its seeds and their properties. Our pumpkins belong to the Delica variety, are grown in Lombardy, at the Azienda Agricola Lorenzini Naturamica of Sermide and are rich in precious seeds of a thousand qualities!
Did you know, for example, that pumpkin seeds contribute the amino acid L-tryptophan, similar to serotonin, which helps fight depressive symptoms and sleep peacefully, while the B vitamins allow you to assimilate carbohydrates and proteins correctly, transforming them into energy? Their energising properties are also guaranteed by iron, and their consumption as a mid-day snack allows you to regain vitality.
Pumpkin seeds are sold already roasted, but preparing them at home is a more ecological choice than it also allows you to save. Preparing them is very simple: rinse them, place them in a container with water and fine salt and leave them to soak overnight. Drain and leave them for 24 hours on a tea towel. Then you can toast them in the oven or in a pan. Being oily, pumpkin seeds are very caloric, but to enjoy their properties you just need to consume just 10 g a day: no danger for your figure!
